Hide what is behind you blur
Blur is on the first time you turn the camera on. It is the computer's best guess at where you stop and your room starts, so edges, dim light and quick movement all let bits of the room through for a moment at a time. It uses battery, and on a slow machine it costs you smooth video. It makes your room harder to see. It is not a promise that nobody can see it.
Change how your voice sounds off
This disguises your voice. It does not make you anonymous. It moves your voice up or down and shifts its tone separately, which is enough that somebody who knows your voice will not place it straight away. It will not stop anybody who holds a recording of you and wants to match it, and it does not survive an expert comparison. Do not lean on it where being recognised would matter. It does not change your accent, your words or the way you put them, and anybody who knows those will still know you.

File uploads are off. Private Bothy storage is not connected in this app yet.
Use shared storage instead
This is not verified private Bothy storage. Anyone with a file’s storage URL may download its encrypted bytes; the key is needed to read it. The host can observe upload and download metadata.
Changing this setting does not move or delete existing files. Selecting or dropping a file uploads it immediately when shared storage is allowed, before you press Send.

Set up this device’s private rendezvous key
Choose a new index, then approve the exact request on Heartwood. The signer sends an encrypted child only to this browser’s NIP-46 device key; this page never receives a root key or exports the child.
Bring recent Nostr history home
This explicitly reads one 30-day window from each of your configured read relays. Verified original events are sent privately to a freshly checked box you control. Only NIP-17 messages this signer can open are added to this browser’s encrypted search index.
Search imported history on this device
This searches only the encrypted index in this browser. Search words and results never leave this device.

Notifications by project and room
Room settings override project settings, which override your default. If a room belongs to several projects, any project set to Off mutes it unless you override the room. Saved for this account on this device. The main notification switch pauses all alerts from the open app.
These settings currently apply while KithMoot is open. Closed-app push uses the keeper’s separate room settings.
